Empower the vocational school system and offering in Haiphong and Quang Ninh.
The wider Haiphong and Quang Ninh area is rapidly becoming a main production hub in Vietnam and the continuous need for workers is attracting people from more remote areas. Together with the need for training for these new entrants in the industrial market, there is a continuous need for training for the current and future skills requirements of the wider Haiphong area. Where in the south of Vietnam already for long term extensive cooperation schemes exist with the private sector, the vocational school system and cooperation with private sector is only at its starting point.

Together-Vietnam is working together with selected vocational schools in Haiphong and Quang Ninh who are open for change and willing to work closely together with the private sector. Based on the needs of the (future) business community of Haiphong, appropriate trainings are being worked out in close partnership with the private companies.
One of the models applied is the Dual vocational schooling, whereby the theoretical training in school is provided, empowerd by (international) support, and the practical trainings are provided in the partnering companies.
We are working together with specialised experts, both Vietnamese and international, to improve the theoretical training in school. Private companies participate in the program by providing specialised (in company) trainers and machine time to assure practical training solutions.
An intensive partnership between the experienced vocational school Lilama2 of Dong Nai is created with the vocational schools of Haiphong to assure capacity building and transfer of expertises. Lilama2 has a long-term track record in vocational schooling in close partnership with private sector, including the dual vocational school system. Lilama2 has been supported and funded amongst others by German Government through GIZ in the Tvet program.
